A Bit About Katie

Katie is a relational therapist. Whether she is working with you individually or as part of a unit, she is always curious about how other people or systems impact you. She offers person-centered, holistic therapy that emphasizes curiosity and collaboration. Katie interweaves aspects of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. When working with couples, she primarily uses the Gottman Method. She sees people as a part of an intricately woven tapestry of relationships. Like a thread in the tapestry, a person cannot be excluded from relationships to function on his or her own. She sees her role as your therapist to discover the parts of your relationships that are working and tries to duplicate them in the parts of your relationships that aren’t working for you.

Katie views therapy as a partnership. You are intelligent and the expert of your own life, and she has studied for many years to gain special knowledge to help you facilitate the changes you want to make. She will collaborate with you on your goals for yourself and your relationships, mindful of what each person brings to the partnership. Katie is queer, poly, and kink positive. She aims to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for individual and relational exploration. Her hope is to help you get unstuck from ways of relating to self and others that are no longer serving you and find alternative patterns that are nurturing and supportive. Her passion is to help clients improve communication, navigating conflict and decision making, and exploring intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and identity. She also enjoys offering support in navigating life transitions, body image, grief, loss, death, and dying.

Katie graduated from Antioch University Seattle in spring of 2023 and holds an Associate License in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has received specialized training in Gottman level 1 and 2 methods.

When Katie is not supporting her clients, you are likely to find her dancing, singing, hiking, meditating, reading and cherishing time with her friends and family.
